Campus Partner Resources

  • Cawley Career Education Center : Visit their website to schedule an appointment with an advisor or see what events they are planning or opportunities they have posted on Handshake! We have found the Cawley-Sponsored Opportunities and Unpaid Internship Resources Section particularly helpful.

    • Did you know that the Career center offers a TON of great resources that can help you get a jumpstart on your job search? Here are some frequently used resources:

    1. Self-assessment and discernment resources
    2. Networking tips
    3. Resume and cover letter guidance
    4. Interview prep
  • If you are searching for an internship, Handshake (opens in a new tab) should be your first stop! Search for current openings in Georgetown’s job and internship database which is used by employers approved to recruit GU students. You can create your profile with as much or as little information as you’d like! The set-up process is simple and quick! Other job and internship listing databases are linked within Cawley’s website under the Jobs and Internships Tab.
  • Industry Email Newsletters: In addition to the Career Center’s general newsletter, they produce several industry newsletters (opens in new tab) to share information, events and opportunities about the industries you are potentially interested in. Make sure to subscribe or update your subscription preferences to stay in the loop for opportunities!
  • Student Employment Office (SEO): Head over to the Student Employment Office Webpage to look for open positions and resources for student employees! Looking for a Federal Work Study position? Need an on-campus position? You can filter your search in GMS! All off-campus positions remain listed in Hoyaworks.
  • Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching & Service (CSJ): The CSJ has many wonderful volunteer and FWS positions for social justice work and community engagement throughout the academic year!
  • Center for Research and Fellowships (CRF): Interested in pursuing research and/or other competitive experiential opportunities? Find resources that can help you in preparing applications or proposals at the Center for Research and Fellowships.
  • Interested in grad school? Check if the graduate program you’re eyeballing passes the value tests (i.e. will it be worth it?!)! This interactive report (opens in new tab) from Georgetown’s Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW) proposes new measures to improve accountability and transparency in graduate education which can be helpful in your planning.

  • Professional Development Grant
  • Alumni Mentor Program: When you sign up for an alumni mentor you can ask to be paired with someone based on your professional/career interests! Our volunteers can be great sounding boards for questions you have as they relate to job searching, networking tips, and more!
  • Achieve Weekly Newsletter: This e-newsletter includes announcements of internship opportunities, summer jobs, and various networking events (many sponsored by Georgetown University alumni). Students receive information on workshops, panels, opportunities, and more and we even continue to send professional opportunities to young GSP alumni!
  • Join our group on LinkedIn (opens in a new tab), which is only open to alumni and undergraduate students currently in the program, for another source of professional connection and crowdsourced opportunities!
