Help make a difference in our students’ experience at Georgetown University. We are always in need of committed individuals who can help students move into dorm rooms, provide transportation, make introductions to professional contacts, and more.

“I’ll never forget the first day that I arrived at Georgetown. My bus from NY was delayed an hour and a half yet Michelle Thompson, an awesome GSP supporter, waited patiently to drive me to campus even as my own anxiety grew. This was the first of many amazing encounters that I’ve had with the Georgetown Scholarship Program. I’m so grateful for the staff, alumni, and the extended support network, my NYC mentors the Liguoris, and the GSPeeps who’ve commiserated and celebrated with me. Thank you GSP, I’m always astounded when you alleviate my burdens before I am even cognizant of them.” –Marielle Carter (C’17)

Here are some of our programs that depend on volunteers:

The GSP Regional Network Program (page opens in a new tab) is a group of dedicated supporters and alumni from all over the country who are working together to support GSP students before they arrive on the Hilltop, during their undergraduate experience, and after graduation. To learn more and get involved, please contact gspregionalnetwork@georgetown.edu!

Alumni Mentor Program (opens in new tab) – a network of Georgetown graduates who provide one-on-one, on-going relationships with students. Mentors offer invaluable advice and encouragement to help GSP students thrive on campus and beyond. Alumni mentors are paired on a case-by-case basis with students’ interests and mentors’ strengths in mind. To learn more and get involved, please contact us at gspmentors@georgetown.edu to get involved! Please note we match every year in June for the following school year. Thank you for your patience as we add you to our queue!

GSP TLC – a subset of volunteers who organize programs such as first-year bedding, midterm care packages, and break programming. Contact gsphoyas@georgetown.edu to learn more.

Project Move-In – this service is designed to benefit first-year students who arrive at Georgetown unaccompanied by family or friends. Volunteers meet students at the airport or train station, make a positive first impression and help them get settled into their dorms. Please fill out our interest form (opens in a new tab) if you would like to help. Interested volunteers must have an affiliation (alumni, supporter, staff, etc.) with GSP or Georgetown.

Join our GSP Group on LinkedIn (link opens in a new tab) or become part of our Alumni Network Database (opens in new tab)! Our group on LinkedIn is a great place to post about opportunities that would be great for GSP Grads and current students! Likewise it is a wonderful place to make professional connections! If you are a GSP Grad and would like to stay in touch or become involved but don’t know where to start, fill out out our GSP Grad Update Form (form opens in new tab) to join our database!
