| Event Reports Reception hosted by Mary and Carl (C'63) Liggio (Chicago, IL, October 2007) |
The Georgetown Scholarship Program (GSP) extends sincere thanks to Mary and Carl (C'63) Liggio for graciously hosting the recent GSP reception in Chicago, IL.
Inspired by a moral imperative and commitment to Jesuit traditions, Georgetown promises to meet the full financial need of every accepted student, regardless of their socioeconomic circumstance and despite an endowment far smaller than that of our peer institutions. Support of GSP enables Georgetown to fund more competitive scholarship packages, offering increased grants and reduced loans to applicants with great financial aid needs.
"What I love about GSP is that it is making a concerted effort to address the disconnect that exists between lower-income, bright students and their educational opportunities. I appreciate that GSP is grounded in the belief that student choices should not be limited by their economic status."
- Antwaun Sargent (SFS'11)
Sponsored by the Class of 1977
"The young men and women applying to Georgetown are our future. If Georgetown is going to continue as one of the top schools in the world, we must attract and maintain the best and brightest students, regardless of their ability to afford Georgetown's rising tuition costs. GSP is a critical part of achieving this end, which is why Mary and I, as well as our daughter, Anne (C'04), support GSP."
- Carl Liggio (C'63)
