GSP Students Classes of 2009 and 2010
The Georgetown Scholarship Program (GSP) consists of alumni, parents, and friends of Georgetown University committed to the University policy of meeting the full financial need of all qualified students. By providing enhanced financial aid packages to undergraduate students through increased grants and reduced loans, the program enables Georgetown to offer an education to students regardless of their socioeconomic status and to compete on equal terms with peer institutions for the best and brightest students.
GSP began in July 2004, when a group of dedicated supporters garnered contributions that sponsored 50 Georgetown freshmen with scholarships averaging $15,000 each. In its second year, the program continued to grow and another 75 students were granted scholarships. Now in its third year, the program supports 194 scholarship recipients at Georgetown. Over 80% of program donors continue to make an annual financial aid gift every single year.
